Project Background

A regional data center operator in Southeast Asia required a complete cable management system for a new facility housing more than 1,200 server racks across three floors. The site experiences high year-round humidity and temperatures above 32 degrees Celsius, so heat dissipation and corrosion protection were the two dominant design priorities. The contractor approached Langfang Henghao Metal Products Co., Ltd. to supply trays that could handle dense power and data runs while remaining easy to install on a tight schedule.

The Challenge

Data centers concentrate huge cable densities in a compact footprint. Trapped heat raises conductor temperatures and can force current derating, while any corrosion in overhead trays is expensive to remediate once operations begin. The client needed a light, ventilated tray that would not trap heat, combined with a finish that would survive years of humidity without maintenance.

Our Solution

We specified perforated hot-dip galvanized steel cable trays with a 60mm side rail height and 300mm width for the main power runs, and narrower 150mm trays for data cabling. Every tray was hot-dip galvanized to a zinc coating of approximately 70 microns, giving strong protection in the humid environment.

Support and Accessories

We supplied threaded rods, hangers, brackets, bends and reducers so the contractor could assemble the entire system from one source, reducing lead time and the risk of mismatched parts.

Results and Outcomes

• Over 8,000 meters of cable tray delivered in four phased shipments
• Installation completed within the original construction window
• Consistent airflow helped the client meet its thermal design targets
• No corrosion issues reported after the first year of operation
